Tha Mid-January Blah's

2008-01-19

What a long month January seems to be!!  The last weeks of 2007 were days - and nights - filled with the sight and smell of many wonderful, delicious foods - many of which, those of us who are diabetic, must learn to avoid or at least consume in moderation.

A Possible Social Roadblock

2007-12-17

Good Morning

Thank you, Jonathan, for the information you have given us in your posting on guidwlines for eating out.  I really appreciate them and find that they may be applied to everyday eating situations, not just social times.

Last week I had the opportunity to use most of these guidelines.  I met 4 other women who have diabetes at a restaurant for supper, after which we came back to my place for dessert.  For someone with diabetes, this is a loaded statement both emotionally and socially.

Diabetiquette

2007-11-04

Thank you, Lori, for your response concerning how you had made your daughter's diabetes just a normal part of her life while you were eating out.  I am certain that you have educated many about diabetes control just through your actions.

Time Change

2007-11-04 19:45:00

I have found this to be a very long and somewhat confusing day as a diabetic.  I know that I am supposed to just test and give my insulin at the regular times, but my body has decided that the change from daylight savings time to standard time is going to cause some minor distress.  I have been hungry when I have not been ready to eat; not hungry for lunch - breakfast had been an hour later, according to my body rthymns, etc.  What about you?  Was anyone else similarly troubled?
