Diabetes Type I

Auto Immune DisorderS!!

I went to Catholic school for a part of my formative years (grades 4-8). I was baptised and confirmed and was certain that I was going to be the first female Priest!

I became sick of the 'school politics' with the girls, and insisted that I move to the public school right around the corner from my home. My mother told me... "Susan, you will encounter this throughout life - changing schools isn't going to change human nature"

Retinopathy is like a root canal?

Generally I don’t start anymessage with “Hi, I have type 1 diabetes – for 23 years now and I am 32 yearsold” but considering the site I am on and since this is my very first postingof any sort, it seems like the best way to start.

I am hoping for some enlightenmenton retinopathy - but not just the regular stuff of what it is, why does itoccur or what treatments are available, as I am not looking for the genericinformation – what I do need is real life answers on a more advanced level.

Rights

I'm a 21 year old girl. I live in a "big" city in Norway, small compared to american cities or any other city really. We got 50 000 people in this "town", that's huge for us norwegians, but small for others. I saw sicko recently and it amazes me how some people are denied medical help. Here, the government pays my medicine after I've spent a certain ammount of money on them. Here, I get free medical help from a doctor who's specialized within diabetes and a nurse who also is specialized within diabetes.
