  • "Diabetes can be the beginning of a healthier life. Take control and look after yourself."

    "You are not alone. Lots of people are there to help!"

    "Eat a healthy diet, participate in enjoyable exercise and have lots of fun. This defines successful diabetes."

    "Relax and enjoy life, but bring all of your intelligence to bear on learning how to manage diabetes. Go to TRIDEC, or equivalent. Find a GOOD endocrinologist and see him/her frequently."

    "Yoga. Exercise. Insulin pump."

    "Meet others with Type 1 diabetes."

    "Live your life as normal as possible. Don't say I can't, because you can."

    "Listen to your body."

    "Take really good care of yourself - make sure you get plenty of rest, eat well, exercise and take time to do things for yourself."

    "Don't get discouraged with your blood glucose levels, some days are going to be better than others. Don't let it stress you out."
