We are hosting Pumping 101 to anyone new to insulin pump therapy or for those who feel they need more information and support with managing diabetes on an insulin pump. Our first session will be held on Wednesday Feb. 20 at 5:30pm and will cover basal/bolus insulin doses, carb counting and calculating insulin to carb ratios and correction factors.
Session 2 will be held on Wed. April 9 and will cover how to evaluate basal rates, using temporary basal rates, using advanced bolus features and testing ratios and correction factors.
Session 3 will be held on Wed. May 14 and will cover adjusting for exercise, stress, sick days, updates on infusion sets and options and using continuous glucose monitoring as a tool to adjust insulin doses.
All sessions will be held in the dining room at TRIDEC, Women's College Hospital, Burton Hall, 60 Grosvenor St. in Toronto at 5:30pm.
